SPECIAL SPEAKER AT UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH OF LAS CRUCES SUNDAY, JUNE 8
June 2, 2008
(Note: Yesterday’s announcement erroneously suggested that Fr. Morton would be speaking about Lomas del Poleo.)
On June 8, at both the 9:00 and 10:30 AM Sunday Services, Father Bill Morton will speak on the “Change, Transformation and the Common Good.” at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Las Cruces, 2000 South Solano, Las Cruces NM.
Father Morton is the courageous priest of the Missionary Society of St. Columban who ministered to the residents of Lomas del Poleo until he was exiled from Mexico under threat of violence for speaking out against the human rights abuses in this little village, which borders Sunland Park. He gave an eloquent presentation on this topic in February to the Dona Ana County Commissioners.
Music for the service will be provided by Joe Uveges, the Colorado based songwriter.
Sunday Services at the UU Church are held at 9 and 10:30 AM with Children’s Religious Education at 10:30 AM.
