Refugee Hospitality?

So now we hear McCain and Palin are headed to the Gulf region to show support for expected hurricane victims. AP reports, “[McCain aides] said the McCains and Palins want to check on preparations because they are concerned about the people threatened by the storm….”
What a great idea! Just what the Gulf Coast needs right now is a tour by national candidates that will tie up law enforcement in motorcades and security and take money and attention away from preparedness efforts.
I have a better idea: If McCain is so concerned he should offer to open his seven homes to refugees. His 15-acre spread in Hidden Valley, Arizona could accommodate quite a few, as could his merged 7,000-square-foot condos in Phoenix. The indoor waterfall could provide public showers, and John could man the barbecue grill once Sarah gets some moose burgers flown in from Alaska and Cindy comes up with a few original family recipes.
