Richardson has just be named part of the Obama government, maybe it s an opportunity to Lomas del Poleo Alliance to make some noise about this problem??? I think just international pressure can stop the Zaragozas, unless i do not think the santa teresa project will be abandoned, at least people of lomas del poleo could be treated human, and maybe relocated in better fields and with a real indemnization. I cant understand why the zaragozas were so dumb and just used force against these families instead of looking for a normal solution...

Why would Gov. Richardson do anything about Lomas del Poleo when he's on a first name basis with Pedro Zaragoza? After all he was on the bi-national New Mexico-Chihuahua Commission to promote development and tourism, convened by the former Chihuahua governor and New Mexico governor Bill Richardson in 2003. Whatever else Gov. Richardson is, he's a politician, he's not going to cause an international incident by supporting poor Mexicans against billionaire businessmen with US business interests. Without doubt he has known about this terrible abuse since it began.
Anything connected to the Zaragozas stinks to high heaven. One can only hope that there is some justice in this world (or the next if you believe in that) and they will get exactly what they deserve.
My heart and hopes are with the people of Lomas del Poleo.
