Sustainability: You Decide!

January 9, 2009

On Monday, the Las Cruces City Council will consider “the Role and Function” of the proposed City Sustainability Manager. This is a critical meeting.

Sustainability affects everything. We are at a crossroads. Monday’s meeting will decide whether we move toward sustainability, or let this opportunity slip away.

Will the Sustainability Manager have the power to do his/her  job? Or will this be a position that sounds good, but is buried in bureaucracy and is unable to get anything done?

Will the Sustainability Manager have the freedom to reform and make changes, or be forced to accept the status quo?

Come on Monday to have your voice heard! Only by showing up can you help ensure a Sustainability Manager position equal to our enormous challenges! Sustainability discussion should begin by 2:30, but should last until 4pm. Come when you can!
