Update on Lomas del Poleo
March 30, 2009

From multiple sources, it has been reported that the court delays continue in the Agrarian Court in Chihuahua City. The Zaragozas and their representatives continue to prevail upon a replacement judge to accept excuses to delay the proceedings, thus requiring the Lomas del Poleo residents and their attorneys to make repeat trips at burdensome additional expenses. Meanwhile, the war of attrition continues in Lomas del Poleo itself, with additional houses being damaged or destroyed and additional families leaaving, although a determined and courageous core of residents still remains.
The following update was compiled by Las Cruces activist April Willeford. Please see our archives for earlier articles on Lomas del Poleo
