SCHOOL FOR NONVIOLENCE SPONSORS FREE DIVERSITY TRAINING

El PASO, TX, NOVEMBER 6, 2009: The School for Nonviolence will sponsor a diversity training session on Saturday, December 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Carolina Community Center, 563 North Carolina Street in El Paso. All interested individuals are welcomed to attend the training, during which lunch will be provided. The training and lunch are free to registered attendees.
The diversity training session will be facilitated by Johnnie Washington, past president of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and an experienced diversity training facilitator. Through a series of activities–including games, personal reflection, and discussions–Ms. Washington will guide attendees in an exploration of their ethnic and cultural identities. Attendees will discover how cultural and ethnic differences manifest themselves, and how they enrich our community.

The mission of the School for Nonviolence is to facilitate forums, training, collaboratives, and other means to give people the tools to live peaceful and respectful lives in a diverse society.
