Peace vigil Tuesday for Afghanistan
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, 3:30-4:30 PM, the Border Peace Presence will hold an
important, special peace vigil at the front of the Cortez Building, 310 N.
Mesa, El Paso, the building housing Cong. Reyes’s office. This is in advance of
President Obama’s speech Tuesday, when he will certainly call for a
significant escalation of the war in Afghanistan. This war, destructive of
humanity like all wars, is also supporting a corrupt, ineffective Afghani
government, and has all likelihood of becoming an endless quagmire.
