Speak Up For Our Energy-Saving Codes This Thursday
May 31, 2011
This Thursday, June 2nd, the Construction Industries Commission (CIC) will meet to discuss a potential repeal of New Mexico’s energy-saving conservation codes — codes that lower your energy bills, save precious resources, and create new jobs through energy efficiency.
By increasing the energy efficiency of our buildings and homes, New Mexico is:
meeting growing energy demands without building new power plants;
helping to stimulate the state economy and green job sector by increasing demand for energy and resource-saving products; and
helping your family save money on your energy bills. Using energy more efficiently means your home can use less energy — cutting costs on your utility bills.
Despite these benefits, big polluters have waged war against these common-sense codes, and will be attending this meeting Thursday in full force. It’s critical that the commission hears from New Mexicans like you – not just representatives from industry.
It’s not too late to make sure your voice is heard and stand up in support of these energy-saving codes. Please join CVNM this Thursday (6/2) and tell the Commission that you support the Energy Conservation Codes.
