Urge guv to allow Mortgage Fair Foreclosure Act

Non- appropriation bills can be introduced in the NM Legislature only if the Governor sends a message allowing them to be presented.  I urge you to write Gov. Martinez asking that she send the message to the Legislature allowing the presentation of Senator Michael S. Sanchez’s bill known as the “Mortgage Fair Foreclosure Act.”  Senator Steve Fischmann is a co-sponsor.  This bill would ensure that homeowners facing foreclosure are able to negotiate with the proper bank/mortgage principals.  As you undoubtedly know there have been many cases where because of the sale and “bundling” of mortgages it is impossible to figure out who to negotiate with.  People who thought they were negotiating and filling out paperwork with the proper entity have found their homes foreclosed by another entity they were unaware of!
I was at the press conference briefly described below.  it was covered by local press and the Albuquerque Journal.  Check TV news today and the newspapers tomorrow.
