PAX CHRISTI FILM SERIES PRESENTS “FORGIVENESS”
February 18, 2012
“Forgiveness: A Time to Love and a Time to Hate” will be shown in two parts on two consecutive Sundays during Lent. This is part of a film series at the Mother Teresa Center (2400 East Yandell Drive, El Paso). Showings will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, and Sunday March 11. Discussion follows.
This film examines the human capacity to forgive. Why is forgiveness in the air today? What are its powers, its limitations, its dangers? Award-winning filmmaker Helen Whitney explores those questions through a compelling range of stories: from the efforts of present-day Germans to deal with the facts of the Holocaust to the struggle of some 1960s American radicals to cope with the consequences of their violent acts of protest. The filmmaker says the film is meant to raise questions, not provide answers.
The film series is sponsored by Pax Christi El Paso and the Peace and Justice Ministry of the El Paso Catholic Diocese. Admission is free. For information, call (915) 532-0527.
