Adjusting to the Light
By Richard Sober
Rchard Sober will discuss the genesis of his book, Adjusting to the Light, which incorporates painting and prose poetry. Following the brief history of the inception of the book, he will read selected poems from his various writings and this latest work. Following the discussion and reading Robert Erlichman, printer and publisher of Adjusting to the Light and founder-owner of Art Guild Press, will join in the conversation.
Sober sees his paintings as visual narrative poems ranging from interior landscapes to meditations upon the heartbreaking beauty of New Mexico. During forty-four years of painting Richard has shown in many places, including Zeitgeist Gallery (Cambridge, MA.), Hudson River Gallery (Iowa City, IA.), The Right Bank (Brooklyn, NY.), The Baltimore Museum of Art, and Casa de la Cultura (Estepona, Spain).
This self-published, limited edition book includes 97 images with incorporated prose-poems.
