Hypocrisy at its worst

September 19, 2013

I am sorry to be so blunt, but my Congressman Steve Pearce is essentially a liar. Mr. Pearce’s irresponsible actions to stop Obamacare will obviously lead to a government shutdown, and he knows it. Yet he denies that this is his  intention. Here is  the far right wing “Freedom Works” describing the impending government shutdown: “Republicans are willing to take a hard stance – even allowing the government to be shut down, if necessary – in order to stop the catastrophically unworkable and unaffordable health care law from taking effect this January.” Congressman Steve Pearce is a strong supporter of the policies and actions of this group.

Now he telling us that he will work during any government shutdown without pay. Mr. Pearce made millions during his stint as a Congressman including the questionable sale of his company to Key Energy.  This is hypocrisy at its worst. I apologize for the actions of my ignoble Congressman regarding any impending government shutdown.

I no longer practice Law for the Air Force, but I did graduate from BU with honors. I believe it is not “supporting and defending the Constitution” when a Lawmaker refuses to “fairly fund” a law that has passed Congress, been signed by the President, and is considered Constitutional by the Supreme Court. If a Lawmaker, who is sworn to defend the Constitution, does this, they should resign from office.

Got something to say?
