6:00pm — Federation of Democratic Women of Dona Ana County, monthly meeting at International Delights.
Wednesday, March 8
A Day Without Women — national strike called to demonstrate the value of women. Wear red.
Noon — Protest at office of Steve Pearce, 570 N Telshor near Spruce, sponsored by Las Cruces Coalition for Reproductive Justice. Support Planned Parenthood and call for a full-service facility for reproductive healthcare in Las Cruces. Wear pink.
5:30-8:00pm — A Night With Women, sponsored by Las Cruces Unified Community Action. Huge event with music, dancing, food trucks (or bring your own picnic), vendors and info tables. Family friendly. 3201 Harrelson Street across from Art Obscura. Donations will go to the Reproductive Justice Fund to assist women who need help with contraception and abortion services.
Thursday, March 9
5:00-5:30 — Weekly vigil for Standing Rock, sponsored by Soulidarity. Meet at federal building on Church Street at Griggs.
5:30pm — Annual “Sunshine Week” panel on Presidency, Press and 1st Amendment. Peter Goodman, moderator. Third floor of Zuhl Library, NMSU.
Saturday, March 11
2-4:00pm — Monthly open meeting of Southern New Mexico New Progressives (SNMNP) at Roadrunner Rm of Branigan Library. Speakers on “Local Pressing Issues on Immigration.”
