LA FRONTERA FAIR TRADE STORE TO BE OPEN FOR THIRD SUMMER

La Frontera – a seller of fair trade items made by women from the border area and Mexico – opens for the Summer 2017 season June 3.

The store, at Nopalito’s Galería, 326 S. Mesquite St. in Las Cruces, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EVERY SATURDAY from June 3 through Aug. 26.

All proceeds from sales go to the women who produce the products.

 

Among the items shoppers may purchase:

  • Guerrilla Prayer Flags made by women in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico
  • Household items and scarves made by women at Centro Santa Catalina in Ciudad Juárez
  • Clothing and household items, offered by Weaving For Justice, that are hand-woven by Maya women in Chiapas, Mexico.

 

La Frontera is staffed entirely by volunteers.
