SWEC: No Wall Town Hall Monday

August 22, 2017

President Trump’s budget proposal to expand border walls, hire thousands more ICE and border patrol agents, and expand immigrant detention centers are a direct threat to the people and wildlife that live in our border region. Endangered Mexican wolves, jaguars and ocelots are just some of the many wildlife species that would be harmed.

Join us on Monday, August 28, to demand that Congress block Trump’s request for funds to expand the border wall.

This September, Congress will vote on the federal budget, and our New Mexico Senators, Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich, need to strongly oppose any further militarization. Now, more than ever, we need to reclaim our border story and have a say in decisions that impact our region and our people.

This event is hosted by the Southwest Environmental Center, NM CAFe (Comunidades en Acción y de Fé), and the ACLU of NM Regional Center for Border Rights.

We hope to see you there!
