Call to Action at Steve Pearce’s Office Friday

October 15, 2017

Hello, Gun Sense Voters!

I’m Charlie Moore-Pabst, the new volunteer statewide membership director for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
After the recent shooting in Las Vegas, we as an organization want to let our federal elected officials know that now is a good time to strengthen common-sense gun laws. We also want to send the message that we aren’t going away.
So as a response, we’re visiting legislators across the country. We have visits set up with Ben Ray Lujan and Michelle Lujan Grisham next week. Since Rep. Steve Pearce has an A-record with the NRA, we’re going to drop by his Las Cruces office on Friday, October 20 at 1 p.m.
We will voice our opposition to concealed carry reciprocity, which would force the lowest gun laws across the country to be accepted in any state. If passed, any Arizonan would be able to concealed carry here in New Mexico without a permit, instruction, or live fire training.
We also want to let him know that despite his insistence that silencers are safe, Moms stand against loosening silencer regulations that were set in place in the late 1930s.
Both of these issues could come up for a vote before the end of the year and are the NRA’s top priorities.
Can you join us on 10/20 @ 1 p.m. to send the message to Rep. Pearce that New Mexicans demand common-sense gun laws?
You can register here: I will get those of you attending our talking points and all the details the middle of next week.
I thank you for your continued commitment to ending gun violence in our country. Please reach out if you have any questions or need clarification.
In solidarity,
Charlie Moore-Pabst
