     Monthly vigil to support water protectors and indigenous rights and oppose oil pipelines.  Signs are provided.  Meet from 5:00-5:30pm at corner of Picacho & Main in front of Library.

Friday, July 12, 2019

     Lights for Liberty march and rally in El Paso.  The march will begin at the Santa Fe bridge to Cleveland Square Park starting at 5:30pm.  There will be a candlelight vigil at Cleveland Square sponsored by Border Network for Human Rights, Coalition to End Child Detention, ACLU Texas, Hope Border Institute, and Las Americas.  Car pools from Las Cruces are being formed at the Milagro Coffeehouse parking lot on University at 4:00pm.  A portable chair is also suggested.

     “Ay Mariposa” film screening, 7:00-8:30pm, at Southwest Environmental Center, 275 N. Main.  Ay Mariposa tells a story of 3 characters in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas whose lives are upended by plans to build a US-Mexico Border Wall.  Sponsored by Friends of Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks.
