Christmas in Cruces Tree Lighting and Holiday Events

November 27, 2018

The Christmas in Cruces Tree Lighting Extravaganza returns for the third year on the Plaza de Las Cruces on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Booths offering a variety of arts & crafts and entertainment for children will be run by several city departments. The event will be from 6-8 p.m. with the 40-foot Christmas Tree lighting at 7 p.m. There will be free giveaways, family activities, complimentary hot cider, food trucks, caroling, photos with Santa, and live music by “Unlyshed” starting at 6 p.m. Families are also encouraged to take photos with the Grinch, with a canned food donation benefitting a local food pantry.

The event is free to the public and is hosted by Visit Las Cruces and the City of Las Cruces.

A free shuttle provided by RoadRUNNER Transit will have a route from parking lots at Las Cruces City Hall, 700 N. Main St., Thomas Branigan Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., and Third Judicial District Court, 201 W. Picacho Ave. to bus stops on Water and Church streets. The shuttle will run until 8:15 p.m. to ensure everyone gets back to their vehicles.
