     3rd Annual Recovery Celebration sponsored by NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) begins in City Council Chambers at 5:00, followed by a recovery march to the Plaza at 5:30 and a celebration at Plaza de Las Cruces at 6:00pm.  There will be music, entertainment, free food, face painting, balloons & community providers on recovery services, treatment available, plus educational opportunities on mental illness, Narcan, Naloxone and suicide prevention.

     El Paso Firme: Action Against White Supremacy, sponsored by Border Network for Human Rights, RAICES Texas and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, calls us to an exercise of collective compassion and solidarity.  The event will include a march, a call to action, and musical performances.  Meet at 5:00pm at Ascarate Park, 6900 Delta Drive, El Paso.

     Education will be the theme of this monthly public meeting of the Southern New Mexico New Progressives.  Speakers will be Public Education Commissioner Pat Gipson, LCPS Community Schools Coordinator David Greenberg, and NM Senator Bill Soules who chairs the Senate Education Committee.  From 2:00-4:00pm, this meeting will be held at Sugie’s Diner, 340 N Main St.

     Wild & Scenic Film Festival will be held at the Fountain Theater, 2469 Calle de Guadalupe, Mesilla, from 6:00-9:00pm.  These environmental and adventure films illustrate the Earth’s beauty and show the challenges facing our planet and the communities working to protect it.  Tickets will be available soon.
